Project Overview
This project successfully delivered three 8-ton truss-type semi-gantry cranes to a logistics client at Haiphong Port, Vietnam. We provided a customized compact design and an environmentally adaptive solution to address the client’s challenges of limited space and harsh operating conditions, backed by comprehensive localized support. After commissioning, the client’s handling efficiency increased by over 35%, leading to a repeat order.
Customer Requirements
Our client, a growing logistics service provider in Haiphong, needed to solve a material handling bottleneck in a new open-yard storage area. Their requirements were specific:
1.Space Constraints: The cranes had to be installed on existing, fixed concrete runways with limited width to maximize space utilization without new construction.
2.Harsh Environment:The equipment must withstand Vietnam’s high temperature, humidity, and salty air typical of a tropical maritime climate, ensuring long-term durability and minimal downtime.
3.Local Capacity Building:They required user-friendly operation and comprehensive localized training for their team to perform future maintenance independently.
Solution
We provided the customer with the following configuration:
1.Compact, Customized Design:
We employed a mechanically optimized truss-type main girder design. This achieved a lightweight and compact structure that fully met the 8-ton capacity and span requirements while perfectly fitting the client’s pre-laid runway foundations, eliminating any need for modification.
2.Enhanced Environmental Protection:
Corrosion Resistance: All steel structures received a heavy-duty anti-corrosion coating, with reinforced treatment at all welding points.
Electrical Component Protection: Key electrical components were rated IP55 and selected for high-temperature resistance to ensure reliability in the humid climate.
3.Comprehensive Localized Support:
Local Language Documentation: Provided complete operation and maintenance manuals in Vietnamese.
On-Site Training: Dispatched engineers to Vietnam for a two-week, hands-on training program for the client’s operators and maintenance staff.
Parts Support: Established a local stock of common spare parts and committed to providing rapid remote technical assistance.
